Who does it apply to?
All companies, close corporations and sole proprietors have to submit a provisional tax form. This also applies to independent contractors.
What is provisional tax?
Provisional tax is a tax paid based on your estimated profit for the financial year, before the annual tax return is submitted. The tax form for this period is based on the figures for the period 1 March 2021 to 28 February 2022. The estimated income and expenses must be as close to the actual figures as possible. The details that should be submitted is the total income and expenses for the mentioned period.
